Baby Immunisation clinics
- This clinic is by appointment only
- All children will receive an appointment via telephone or post.
- You can also book a normal nurse appointment for baby injections

- For parents concerned about giving their children vaccines containing porcine gelatine, please speak to the surgery as we are able to offer alternative vaccinations that are non-gelatine.

Diabetic Clinic
- We screen at risk people for Diabetes.
- Doctors, nurses and healthcare assistants run diabetic services for Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetic patients. It may be a telephone review.
- Dr Harrison & Dr Ishfaq run a specialist service for more complex insulin dependent diabetics, this service is provided for Horton Park Medical Practice patients and patients of other local practices.
- These clinics are supported with dieticians and interpreters.
Healthy Heart & Asthma Clinics
These are specialist clinics held at our surgery. For these, you will be sent a text or a letter for an appointment. This may be a telephone review/appointment.
Our nurses can also help show you how to use your inhaler correctly.
Women’s Health Clinics
These are specialist clinics held by Dr Bayliss. In this clinic, we are able to support women with access to a full range of contraception including pills, patches, injections, emergency pills and implant and coil fitting.
Cervical Screening
All eligible women 25-64 years of age will be sent information for cervical screening. This is a simple procedure carried out by the nurse in clinic. This enables early detection of changes that can prevent more serious conditions occurring.
Recently, there have been some changes to Cervical Screening. The sample collected is now being tested for Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). You can find out more by clicking on the link below.

Contraception
The practice nurse can discuss all methods of contraception with you. We offer a full range of contraception including pills, patches, injections, emergency pills and implant and coil fitting. You can also get contraception from the locala clinic on (030 3330 9500).
Contraception Clinic
You can have a coil or an implant fitted in a clinic run by Dr Louise Bayliss. These are popular methods of contraception that do not require you to remember to take a pill everyday. Make an appointment to discuss this with Dr Bayliss.

Sexual Health
It is important women use extra precautions (condoms) to avoid sexually transmitted infections. Infections can be passed from one person to another through unprotected intercourse or close contact with the genital area.
Some women may experience symptoms which may include pain when passing urine or pain during sexual intercourse, an unusual discharge, a rash or painful sores around the genital area.
It is important to note some STI’s have no symptoms. Most STI’s are easy to treat so if you have any worries you can make an appointment with the nurse or doctor and attend for a check-up.

Maternity/Antenatal Clinics
You no longer need a doctors appointment if you think you are pregnant. If you have done a home test which is positive you can now self refer to the midwife team online at https://www.bradfordhospitals.nhs.uk/selfreferral/
We have antenatal clinics at both surgeries. Post natal care is provided by your doctor during normal surgery.
The Midwife is employed by Bradford Hospitals NHS Trust but runs antenatal clinics every Wednesday afternoon at Horton Park Surgery.
Minor Surgery Clinics
Dr Clarke and Dr Ishfaq also regularly perform joint injections to shoulders, knees, elbows and fingers for all our patients.
