Together We Can

Choosing the right healthcare option for your needs

Minor health conditions include things like indigestion, heartburn, cold sores, constipation, diarrhoea, dry eyes, ear wax, grazes and sprains. There are also minor health conditions linked to changes in the weather. Coughs, colds and sore throats in colder weather. And things like insect bites and stings, hay fever and heat rash that are common as the weather warms up.

If you have a minor health condition, you’ll probably be able to treat it yourself by getting plenty of rest and taking a shop-bought medicine if appropriate. Looking after yourself and helping prevent getting ill is also important. This might involve stopping smoking, moving about more or keeping up to date with your vaccinations and screening appointments for example.
