I am originally from Ghana and graduated from Leeds University. I joined the team as a Partner in March 2014, having worked in Bradford for over eleven years. I have a special interest in Teaching and Training, and have been recently approved as a GP Trainer. I also have an interest in Mental Health and dealing with complex patients. Outside work, I am a musician and vocalist in an alternative hip-hop band.

I started working at Horton Park Medical Practice in 2017. I became a partner in 2019. I help co-ordinate the teaching of the medical students in the practice. I also perform the minor surgery and joint injections. Outside of work I enjoy playing racquet sports, swimming and running. I am part of a local church where I am involved in leading the youth group. I also am involved in a community organisation that runs community events and projects.
Dr Maria Foulds
I originally come from Liverpool, and started my career in healthcare as a nurse - training in Glasgow. I then worked back in Liverpool for a number of years, before moving on to medical training. I qualified from Leicester Medical School in 2009, and then moved up to Yorkshire, working in Wakefield and then Bradford. I did my GP training here in Bradford, with my final training post here at Horton Park, where I am now working as a salaried GP. My particular areas of professional interest are in older peoples' care and palliative care. I live in Bradford with my family, and on the days I am not working, I am kept busy with my 2 young children. I enjoy spending time outdoors, especially in the countryside and in the garden. I am interested in various environmental issues, and I love to cycle to work when I can.

I have been working as a GP in Bradford since I completed my GP training in 2003. My area of professional interest is women's health and I am trained to fit coils and implants. Outside of work I like to run and cycle and I enjoy lindy hop dancing and playing the clarinet in a band.

I qualified from Leeds Medical School in 2013 and have done my GP training in Bradford. I joined Horton Park Medical Practice in 2017 as a GP trainee and then as a salaried GP in 2018. I have a professional interest in teaching and training as well as research. I am joint lead for undergraduate medical students at the practice. Outside of work I like spending time with my family and baking sweet treats!
Advanced Practitioners can provide treatment and advice for many problems for which you may have seen a doctor for in the past. Their main areas of expertise are in the management of common illnesses and long term conditions. Advanced Practitioners are all trained specialist nurses who have undertaken additional education in order to provide advanced nursing care and prescribe. Same day Advanced Practitioner appointments are available every weekday for common illnesses. You will be offered a consultation with the Advanced Practitioner if you ring for an urgent appointment. The Advanced Practitioner can assess and examine you, make a diagnosis and provide advice and treatment including a prescription if required. They can make referrals to hospital doctors or other health care professionals, and admit patients into hospital when necessary. They are able to legally sign a sick certificate. They work closely with your GP and liaise frequently with her/him about your care.

Advanced Nurse Practitioner
Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears.

Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement, spirometry, ECG measurements, stop smoking services and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.

I have worked at Horton Park Surgery for 15 years, although some patients may remember me from the local chemist (Cohens). I originally came to Horton Park as a receptionist then progressed onto doing phlebotomy. In 2007 I qualified as a Health Care Assistant working within the Nursing Team. My areas of interest include Respiratory, Smoking Cessation and Diabetes. I really enjoy my role and feel I have achieved my goals.

I have worked for the NHS since 2007 when I worked as a receptionist. I was then given the opportunity to train as a Healthcare Assistant . Initially I did my Phlebotomy training in 2010 and progressed to complete and pass my Healthcare Assistant course in 2011. I have worked at Horton Park since 2014, I do various clinics including phlebotomy, diabetic, ECG’s Spirometry, Health Checks In my spare time I enjoy spending time with family and friends.

The practice manager is involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology. The practice manager supports the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also helps to develop extended services to enhance patient care.

I have worked in the National Health Service since graduating from University in 1986. I joined Horton Park in April 2007, but have worked in general practice since 1988. I have completed a postgraduate course in Personnel Management (CIPD). When I’m not working I enjoy spending time with family and friends, walking in the Dales and gardening.
Azra Bi Assistant Manager
The administration team provide support and back office functions to the practice. They organise clinical letters for clinicians and send invitations and referrals for patients to attend various clinics as well as organising new patient notes and electronic and paper communications from different organisations.

Care navigators provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries, dealing with financial claims, dealing with patient records and carrying out searches and practice audits.
